The Crathes Hall provides very good community hall facilities and
is managed by a committee of volunteers who live in the Crathes area.
The purpose of the hall is to provide an amenity for the Crathes
people for community activities and hence provide social contact
and identity for the area. The funds for running the hall are generated
mainly through private hall hire to the general public and over the
last few years due to the effort of the committee this funding has
been more than adequate to keep the hall in good order.
At present the hall has only three community based activities (the
WRI, the winter bowling and the Christmas dance) all are having difficulties
in attracting members from the Crathes community and it is doubtful
if the bowling will resume next season. Therefore the committee is
now conducting a survey to find out the present and future needs
of the Crathes community with regard to the hall facilities and activities.
As a Crathes resident we would be obliged if you could answer the
following questions and give comments as this survey could determine
the future of the hall. It must be stressed that the hall is the
last Crathes social amenity and without the active support from the
community it may cease to operate!
