Tick when done |
| BEFORE USE |
|
| SAFETY - Note the Safety Plan on the notice board in
the hall for location of exits, fire extinguishers and the like. Note
also the “In Case of Fire” instructions on the same board. |
|
LIGHTING & HEATING
The switches for the main lights in the hall itself are in the overhead
cupboard near the east end of the passageway, opposite the kitchen
serving hatch. The switches for the stage lights are on the wall at
back of the stage on the east side.
The heaters within the hall and in the toilets are controlled by time
switches (for ½, 1 or 2 hours) in the low-level cupboard at
the east end of the passageway (below the hall lights cupboard). The
kitchen heater is not on a time switch. The switch for this is alongside
the light switch and also the hot water immersion switch by the kitchen
door. The heater in the Committee Room is operated by the switch beside
it which is also not a time switch. |
|
| AFTER USE |
|
| RUBBISH - Please clear your rubbish from the hall immediately
after your event is over. Recycling of waste is encouraged, although
we regret that at this stage we do have the means of doing this for
you and must ask you to take recyclable material to a recycling point
yourself. (The nearest one is at Somerfields supermarket in Banchory.)
General rubbish should be deposited in the large wheelie-bin outside. |
|
| Please empty the waste bins in hall, kitchen and bar
and replace the bin liners. Similarly the paper hand towel disposal
bins in the toilets should be emptied and relined with the lightweight
bin liners. |
|
| Please don’t forget to check for rubbish dropped
outside. There are metal boxes on the walls outside all three external
doorways, but unfortunately many smokers are still prone to stubbing
out their cigarettes on the ground. |
|
| CLEANING |
|
| The hall floor should be brushed each time after use.
If there has been any food or drink spillage, or mud has been brought
in on peoples’ shoes, it will need mopping as well. Brushes
for the hall, including the large “V” brush, large mops
and mopping bucket are kept in the store room at the north end of
the building. Depending on the state of the floor, the water may need
changing many times. Use hot water. The mopping bucket can be filled
directly at the cleaner’s sink in the bar (you will need to
turn on the hot water heater there in advance) or alternatively from
the kitchen sink (where the hot water comes from the big tank) by
filling the bucket kept in the cupboard underneath the sink and transferring
the water into the mopping bucket from that. Always use the pine gel
floor cleaner supplied (also kept under the kitchen sink). The toilet
floors should be mopped using the same mops. In cold weather it is
a good idea to leave the hall heaters on for an hour after mopping
so as to help the floor to dry. |
|
| The vinyl floored passageways and kitchen should be
brushed and mopped using the brushes and squeegee mops kept behind
the kitchen door. Please do not use these mops in the hall or toilets. |
|
| Toilet cleaning materials are kept in the green Safeway
basket on top of the cupboards in the kitchen. Please empty and reline
the “ladies bins” if used. |
|
| CONSUMABLES |
|
Please replenish toilet paper and kitchen roll.
Supplies of these, along with bin liners are kept in the low level
cupboard in the kitchen alongside the cooker. |
|
| FURNITURE |
|
| Please stack the tables against the back wall of the
hall as noted on the sign there. If the old wooden tables were used,
they are stacked flat in the store room. |
|
| About eighty to ninety chairs can be left in the hall
stacked along the sides. Please do not put them all out in the store
room. |
|
| FINALLY |
|
| Please let us know if anything in the hall has not been
working satisfactorily or was broken during your period of hire. We
want to maintain the hall in the best condition we can, but we need
your co-operation in this respect. Also we’d like to know if
you have any suggestions for improvement. |
|
| Please remember to switch off all lights and heaters
when no longer required and to close all windows before leaving the
premises. |
