Making A Purchase Making a purchase is simple. Just browse our Catalogue, click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.
If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else outside the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency. As a rough guide (2007) there are approx 1.95 US dollars to the UK pound.
We accept all major credit cards and make no surcharges for credit card payments. If you are unhappy with our on-line encryption security you may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.
Cancellation rights: Under current UK consumer law clients may have a 7 day cancellation and refund period if they change their mind on a purchase. This law does not apply to any items which have been customised, designed or specially manufactured for a client. |
Shipping And Handling Because we ship worldwide all listed prices exclude postage, which will be added at the checkout. If you would prefer to use an express carrier or your own courrier account please let us know and we can advise on anticipated cost.
Due to the widespread credit card fraud, countries to which we will not ship include:
Nigeria (and most of Africa), Indonesia, Pakistan, Romania, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Ukraine, Albania.
Where clients pay using Paypal, wire transfer or cash AND are prepared to pay for a guaranteed delivery service with insurance we will ship to these countries. |
Delivery Schedule Our aim is to dispatch your order as quickly as possible. Where we have stock items on the shelf we will dispatch within 48 hours of receipt of order. Where goods have to be custom-made the delivery time may vary between 3 and 10 working days depending upon workload. UK orders normally take 1-2 days in transit. US orders can take 5-10 days using International airmail. If your order is urgent, please let us know and we will endeavour to complete and ship quickly. We accept no responsibility for delays caused by customs or industrial inaction in the postal or transportation sectors.
We reserve the right to ship goods only to the registered cardholder's verified address where we see appropriate. |
| Back Orders If your item is not in stock and is not an item that we manufacture in-house, we will back order for you. You will normally be e-mailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. |
Tax Charges Sales tax (VAT) liability is calculated automatically. For orders made from the UK or the EEC, 15.0% VAT is added. EEC based business can claim tax exemption by completing thier EEC tax number in the appropriate box.
All other orders are tax free. Clients importing goods may be obliged to pay import duty in their country of residence but in practice we have rarely encountered the collection of duties on our goods. Any import or local sales duties are the sole responsibility of the client. |
Credit Card Security We use the secure data encryption and payment gateway of SecureTrading which provides real-time card authorisation. Credit card details are 128-bit encrypted on the customer's computer and transferred and processed without ever being human readable. At no point does ScotGold hold, see or process submitted credit card information.
Data Protection
We will use your details for fraud prevention purposes. We will check your details with fraud prevention agencies and if you give us false or inaccurate information and we suspect fraud, we will record this.

Guarantee All our products come with a no-quibble guarantee. However, we do not guarantee our products for use in hostile environments and would also request that any faults, flaws or delivery problems are notified immediately so that we can resolve the matter quickly and amicably. If the goods have not arrived or fail to meet with approval we will remedy the situation - for these reasons we do not accept back-charging on credit cards.
Our policy is to be helpful, fair and ethical. Normally we would hope to respond to complaints within 24 hours (except where holiday or illness prevent). It is our aim to resolve all complaints and disputes to your satisfaction within 14 working days or less.

Privacy Policy Throughout the transaction your personal information is held on secure and restricted systems. This information is collected as you complete the order form and includes your name, phone number, e-mail address and details of what you have ordered. The information is collected and held for the sole purpose of effecting the transaction and shipping the goods. A single copy of the the final invoice is held on our files for UK tax and accounting purposes.
Credit card information is neither processed or stored by us - all card information is handled by SecureTrading. A link to their website is provided on our front page.
ScotGold does not disclose bona-fide buyers' information to third parties nor send you unsolicited junkmail. We are active opponents of unsolicited junkmail and respect your privacy. Cookies are used on this shopping site, but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item.
