ScotGold - About Us

The business was founded in 1989 and initially designed and crafted personalised giftware made from clear acrylic plastics. In 1992 we were asked to produce PC badges by a local computer company. Since then we have concentrated on the design and manufacture of domed badges for the computer, electronics, giftware and automotive sectors. ScotGold was one of the first UK companies to use the Internet for marketing and e-commerce. In 1999 we were highly commended finalists in the DTI / ISI e- commerce awards and have advised the UK Government, DTI and LECs on e-commerce and on-line marketing. We use full-colour digital printing equipment, a programmable label cutter and automated resin dispensing plant. History ScotGold’s original business activity was to explore for and produce Scottish gold (hence our name). Initially we encapsulated rare Scottish gold into epoxy resin and as more gold became available, set up a joint venture with goldsmith David Milne of Drumoak to manufacture jewellery made from Scottish gold. You can see this at The Scottish Gold Collection In 2006 our trading name was adopted by a company seeking investors with the intention of opening a gold mine in Tyndrum, Scotland. Despite trademark regulations, we were unable to prevent this deliberate act of identity cloning. We operate under the names ScotGold, ScotGold Products and Scotgold Ltd and are in no way associated with Scotgold Resources Ltd. We are not responsible for any claims, press statements, debts, liabilities, damage or other actions of Scotgold Resources Ltd. We will also not respond to any telephone calls for Scotgold Resources or forward misdirected e-mails to them. We have been based in the Banchory Business Centre for over 6 years
